Soaked Custardy is an oak barrel aged version of Soul Custardy. The liquids cured in a fresh dumped, young rye whiskey barrel since 06/15/18. The outcome: A mellow, well balanced, smooth and sophisticated custard with an earthy flavor signature all it's own. This liquid is limited in quantity.
Batch #6 of our rich oak barrel aged custard. We used a variation of the original curing technique on this one to allow the oak notes to peek through a tad more. This batch was added to the barrel on 06/15/18.
Tasting Notes: Every barrel is different and as a result, every batch of this liquid has been different. Batch #6 it the woodsiest of them all. You can clearly pickup the oak notes in this one. The whiskey is also a tad more prominent than in past Barrels. This was our first cure with this particular distillery. We specifically requested the most fresh dumped young rye barrel they had. The barrel was also a bit larger than previous barrels and had more airspace for the liquid to breath as it cured. Our longest cure to date - 4 months. It's good!
